Debt Validation refers to a consumer’s right to challenge a debt and receive verification of a debt from a Debt Collector.
If the validity of the debt is not disputed within 30 days of receiving the first collection letter, the Agency can assume the debt is valid. The Debt Collector has a right to use all legal collection efforts against you.
When LIBERATE DEBT demands the verification of the name and address of the original creditor, the Collection Agency must pause its collection efforts and cannot resume them before fact-checking the debt information with the original Creditor and mailing you the verification.
